Weekend Review

Guess what I did?

I went boating...

duh.

Ugly John's hosted the Bob Morgan Memorial poker run on Saturday. Bob Morgan was a offshore powerboat racer that passed away in 2011 during a race. He was one of the most famous offshore racers and his driver, JT, was a friend of mine. I wrote about it here. This poker run was in memory of him and his love for boating!
Ashley, Jon, Dani, Jim, Me, and Phil

Freedom US-1
Enjoying lunch!
We are always ready for the camera! Lol!
Our friend Leslie threw a pool party for her husband Brandon's 37th birthday. That pool felt soooo good. It was nearly 95 degrees with about 85% humidity!
Saturday night I packed up and headed back home. I was so exhausted from Friday and Saturday that I couldn't even bear to go to the bar or do it all over on Sunday. The hot sun just wears me out sometimes!!

How was your weekend?

Weekend Update!

This is my first time linking-up with Sami's Shenanigans!

This wasn't technically the "weekend" but I have to share my dinner from Thursday night. That was the day I got my first Invisalign trays so I was STARVING when we got back to Joplin. We ate dinner at 609 and they had just changed the menu so I just ordered some chicken with two side choices... asparagus and spinach. The spinach was CRUNCHY. It was sooo good! I have never had spinach prepared like this. It was not steamed, like how I usually have it. Have you ever had spinach that was crunchy?

Moving on with more food...
Friday night I was starving, yet again! So I went a little cray at Del Rio. I tell you what, if you want to go on a diet, get Invisalign. For the last four days I have not "snacked". Nope. Not once. It is too much of a pain in the ass to take out my aligners, rinse them off, eat something, then brush my teeth and put them back in. It's probably a good 10 minute process. I have been eating 3 meals a day. And that's it!

Wanna see something gross? Here are my aligners/trays. These little guys have taken up residence in my pie-hole. I change aligners every seven days (on Thursday nights). Last Thursday and Friday I was one cranky brat... boy I hope it's not like that every week!

Hello Saturday! I curled my hair. Whatcha think?

So my crazy boyfriend decided Saturday would be the perfect day to test some new props on the boat. That sounds great and all except for the part where it was 40 DEGREES OUTSIDE. Now listen... I love boating and all but if it is between October and April, I need a boat with heater.

We went to Hooker's at Cherokee Yacht Club for a late lunch and we ordered the "shrimp cocktail" which ended up being the biggest shrimps I have ever seen!

That is one big ass shrimp! Lol!!

Saturday night when we got back after our frozen boat ride, I wanted to go to this new bakery called Cupcake's by Liz. I ordered this beauty and she was delicious!

Sunday I got up bright and early to sell my old car! I had a buyer contact me Friday for a test-drive, then he called me Saturday and made me an offer that I accepted, and then Sunday I delivered the car and got my payment! This was the first time I have ever sold a car! I think the nice man that bought my car thought I was nuts because I nearly started to cry when he made me an offer that I couldn't refuse!
I was a little happy. Lol

Sunday afternoon I hit up Big Lots for the 20% sale. I got a bunch of great stuff that was super cheap! A lot of dental things like little weird shaped tooth brushes to clean my aligners and mouthwash.

That was my weekend!

Miami Boat Show and Randoms

Hi friends! It is absolutely disgusting in Missouri right now... apparently we had a thunder-snow-storm. I don't know and I don't care what that means but I do know that I don't like it.
Snow = Gross
Now that it is clear that I don't like snow let's get on with this.

The day my dad passed away I ordered a necklace with his monogram. It came in the mail the day before we left for Florida and I could not be more happy with it. I ordered the 18mm Double Hole Gold Disc with the Vine Interlock font. I also had "1-21-2013" engraved on the back. I absolutely love it and I have worn it every day since I got it.
We left Friday the 8th and drove all the way to Atlanta. That drive freakin' sucks. We made it to the hotel where we met Chris (the crazy guy that did the Bermuda Challenge with Tyson). He had to rent a car and drive from Virginia Beach because he had to bring a bunch of the gear they use for these world record runs. This "gear" includes life rafts, medical kits, and fuel bladders. Yes I said fuel bladders. I walked in our room and it reeked of diesel fuel. Sweet. I'm gonna get high on diesel all night long!

I was so tired and wanted to go to sleep so bad but I did manage to get a pic of my jewelry dump.
We made it to Miami on Saturday night. My dear friend Farrah invited us to stay with her and Allan in Coconut Grove. I love staying with friends. It's so much more comfortable than staying in a hotel room. Plus I get to do my own laundry which I might enjoy more than the trip itself. (haha)

Sunday we went to the sand bar on this beauty.
She's a 90' yacht named "Mia". Allan is the captain and Farrah is the stewardess. There is also a chef and a first mate on board. I was honored when they asked me if I wanted to help work that day! Farrah and I were both "stews" for the yacht owner. He had about 20 of his friends on board and we had so much fun! All we really had to do was serve drinks and clean up after the meals. Easiest $150 I have ever made!

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday we ran errands and picked up friends from the airport. We also picked up Farrah's new car and some crazy lady almost wrecked in to us the FIRST NIGHT she had the car. Looked to me like she was texting or something STUPID. Driving in Florida is crazy!

Wednesday and Thursday we went to the boat show. Tyson and Chris accepted an award from Boating Magazine for their Bermuda Challenge record.
There were some crazy boats!!
I love the teak wood floor in this Skater. So elegant!
This 52' MTI is named "Black Diamond". It was a custom build but you can have one for yourself for around $2.5 million dollars. No big deal.
A couple of friends from Oklahoma bought Cigarette Center Consoles. We were testing the boat out to make sure it was party-worthy.
(If you give one damn about professional football, towards the bottom right in this picture, the guy in the pink button-front shirt is Albert Haynesworth. He's mostly known for his career with the Washington Redskins.)
Saturday it absolutely POURED. ALL DAY LONG.
Sunday I got to work on Mia again. It was an interesting group that chartered the boat. They were nightclub owners from Las Vegas and strippers. They were mostly hungover and exhausted from partying til 6am the night before and I overheard one of them say they spent $98,000 at the club that night. Freakin' ridiculous!

Anywho... me on Mia...
The sunset that night was gorgeous...
Monday we ventured to the boat show for a few hours and I finally got to go to the Mac Pro store on Lincoln Road. Thank you Baby Jesus because I have been DYING to try the Studio Fix Fluid foundation. I blogged about road-tripping for it back in August.
I'm NW20 if any of you care...

And I got to go to Ikea! It was absolutely NUTS in there. People are CRAY! I was searching for all the pieces for my vanity room... remember that wet dream I had a few months ago where I thought I could get Tyson to help me build a vanity?

It's slowly happening. They didn't have most of the pieces I needed but I did leave with the Alex 9 Drawer unit and a bunch of drawer organizers.

The trip was a pretty good time but we didn't get to stay for the poker run. We have way too much stuff going on at home to be gone for over two weeks. I actually didn't even go for a boat ride that was faster than 20mph. I was not about to hop in the boat with these two fools.

If you are patient enough (I'm not) to watch the whole video you will see where they stuffed the boat through a wave and lost two of our GoPro's. $800 dollars overboard. Sweet.

And about my vlogging... I filmed A LOT of good stuff. Now comes the hard part... editing.

I'll let you know when the video is finished... hopefully by the end of the month!

Wish me luck!

Catching up!

Well crap. Another whole week without blogging. I swear I'll get better!!

Friday night I went to Grand Lake to hang out and get out of the house. I saw some friends and got some sun. Exactly what I needed!

Saturday after my poolside lounging, I went to Tyson's brother-in-laws graduation party which was pretty fun. Of course the most fun was seeing Mr. Sam. Here he is hanging out in his chair like a big kid.

Lastly, guess who has over 1000 pageviews!?!?

THIS GUY GAL

I'm pretty stoked!! Now I need to work on those subscriber thingys. How do I get more of those thingys?

My Year in Review: 2011

A loooooot happened in 2011. I traveled more than I ever had in my entire life!! Here's a break down of my year:

BEWARE
photo OVERLOAD!!!

January
I left the country for the first time! Tyson and I went to Toronto and Mississauga, Canada. Let me tell you... it's cold up there. Don't go in January. :-P
This was from the balcony of our condo in downtown Toronto.

February
Miami Boat Show!! Yay!! I love boats... we also did the Miami Boat Show Poker Run with the Florida Powerboat Club. That was my second time to Key West in four months. We had a blast!
Kelley and I on South Beach

You gotta be kidding me. I would live on this thing!!

From our condo balcony in Key West
(I have a sweet sunglasses tan line!!)

I love Key West!

March
In March we had this killer snow storm. The snow weighed so much it sank the docks in Grand Lake, OK... just so happens that is where Tyson kept his 56' Bluewater Yacht.
The docks were completely destroyed!

That's the boat. The back ropes broke but the front ropes held on.

We also went four-wheeling. Not just any four-wheeling--redneck four-wheeling.
Sweet Jeep!

April
In April I got to take my first ride in a private plane... a Bonanza. It seats six. I was only slightly freaking out but I knew I was in good hands. Jim has THOUSANDS of hours in this plane.
The Bonanza with a beautiful sunset.

Taking off in Wichita!

We also had to deliver a boat to a customer in Minnesota so I got to visit the Mall of America!
The Lego store. So cool!!

May
Summer begins!! A local boating group called Midwest Boat Party throws an annual theme party and they chose my idea! Kentucky Derby!
We had so much fun dressing up and wearing big floppy hats!!

At the end of May was the Joplin tornado. Tyson lives in Joplin and we were there the night it happened. It was terrifying. We hauled a boat straight through the storm and made it home about an hour before the tornado wiped out Joplin.
The aftermath. Piles of debris filled the streets.

It was unlike anything I had ever seen before. Worse than what is in the movies.

June
Tyson and Jim did the Bimini Challenge-- driving a boat from Miami 90 miles to the Bahamas and back. In 2010 they won first place in the 46' Skater "Freedom". This year "Freedom" was in the shop so they took the 29' Skater.
Here she is! "Lee Aerospace"

Here is the beautiful yacht I got to hang out on while they were go-karting to the Bahamas and back. It's a 98' Westship.

The flybridge. Perfect for laying out and enjoying some cocktails!

Love a double rainbow!

Do I look like the Little Mermaid? Haha

The offshore races were the same weekend so we got to sit on the beach and watch Miss Geico beat everyone.

A good boating friend of ours, Ronnie, decided he wanted to have Skaterfest (a party for anyone who owns a Skater) at his house in Detroit. We couldn't say no!!
He has got the most awesome boat lift!

Aerial shot of his house.

It was a little cold so Summer and I rode with Ronnie. His boat has a hard top so no wind!

Always time for a little photoshoot! Jay is the best offshore photographer but he gets a few good ones of us being silly, too.

Jim and Tyson in the Baby-Skater!

This is Ronnie's house from the street. Absolutely stunning!

July
We have a couple really great friends who build boats down in St. Petersburg, FL called "Statement Marine". They needed an awesome stereo system in one of the boats so Tyson and I went down and helped them finish build the boat.
Here she is! Saddle Up is the name of the boat. Her home is Lake Cumberland, Kentucky!

Beautiful Florida sunset.

4th of July in the Gulf of Mexico. We could see about 20 different fireworks shows off the beaches.

I also got to attend my very first MLB game. Go Rays!

In June we also went to the Osh Kosh air show in Wisconsin.
Jim loaded up the 441 Cessna and we took a day trip to Wisconsin.

Someone had a bad day.

August
The Shootout is the last weekend in August which just so happens to be MY BIRTHDAY!!

"Freedom" is red, white, and blue and we found this guy at the bar. I think he should be our manscot. :-P

Here's a few of my favorite pics from the summer!
Our party-barge: 60' Sunseeker

No seats left on the golf cart so I sat on the front bumper!

Rusty's birthday on the Sunseeker!

Me and Miss Davi

Good times with Steve & Sierra

September
I work on the gas dock at the Horny Toad and when I found out Nelly was going to do a concert on Labor Day weekend, I could NOT miss it!
We were packed!!

The stage is to the right of the TV... we didn't have the best view but I can say I saw Nelly!

September is also the Lake Cumberland Poker Run! Since Tyson and I helped finish "Saddle Up", we drove to KY to see the maiden voyage of the 42' Statement.
Tammy, Me, and Angela

Shots!

State Dock was PACKED in front of our house boat. We were throwing out Statement t-shirts and the weight of everyone sunk the dock!

Tammy & Anthony in the "Saddle Up" shirts are the boat owners. They have great friends! ie- cops. Lol

The party cove at Lake Cumberland is INSANE!

After a crazy weekend we embarked on our houseboat journey.

And we might have put a few bubbles in the hot-tub. :-)

October
Sarasota Poker Run!
View from our hotel room

"Freedom" looking fresh and so clean, clean!

We also went to Los Angeles... my first time west!
We found the Hollywood sign!

That's me with Tyson's engine at SevenStock... a Mazda enthusiast car show.

November
Key West Poker Run
Here we are headed to Key West from Miami. "Freedom" broke down so since Jim keeps this boat (the Cigarette) in Miami, we had back-up. Thank the Lord!

Unfortunately, two good friends of ours flipped their boat during the races and both of them perished in the accident. Jim used to race with Bob (on the left) and JT was a good friend of mine. Both were from the Lake of the Ozarks so this hit home for all of us. Just a tragedy.

Here's a photo I took of them on my birthday before they raced in the Shootout.

While we were away in FL, Tyson's sister had her first baby, Sam. This is Tyson's first and only nephew!
Precious baby boy, Samuel.

Near the end of November, I drug Tyson to watch the Mizzou vs KU game in Kansas City. This was the final Border War game before MU joins the SEC so I had to be there!
Mizzou-Rah!

Everyone breathes, right?

Mizzou fans took over that stadium!!

December
At the beginning of December Tyson sporadically decided we would attend the Performance Racing Industry Show in Orlando. Our friends from Statement were there so I got to hang out with one of my favorite boats!
Saddle Up!

Of course Christmas is my favorite part of winter. (I don't like winter. I like summer!)
Steve & Sierra had a Christmas Party so I visited them in St. Louis. We had a blast!

Me and my baby boy Bonzai on Christmas!

I must have been a really good girl this year because I got SHOES!!!

So that was my year! 2011 was so great. It was the first time in my life I had a whole year to do what I wanted. No school, flexible job, and no kiddos. Everyone always tells me "Travel while you are young, aren't married, and don't have children!" so I did!
