Weekend Wrap-Up

What a great weekend! Thursday afternoon I left Joplin and went home to the lake. When I got home I settled in and relaxed for the rest of the evening.

Friday morning I woke up and my mom made me breakfast... an eggy-cheese sandwich to be exact. After a quick nap I went to Versailles. I had to go to the court house to get some paper work to get a new vehicle licensed. I have been trying to get my dad's personalized license plates that say "BOATIN" since he passed away in January. It has been nothing short of hell to get them. I had to have someone "gift" me a vehicle so I can get a title with only my name on it in order to get these personalized license plates. It has been a huge ordeal but this license plate really means a lot to me.

After I left the court house I went to the license bureau and prepared for the worst... I figured I had forgot something like a signature or a piece of paperwork but NOPE! I remembered everything and got the truck licensed and it was so EASY! A huge weight was lifted off my chest! I only have a few more steps until I can say that the license plate is officially and legally mine. Wish me luck!

Afterwards, I got my hair done and got to spend time with Dixie, her daughter Caity, and her beautiful twin baby girls who are already one year old now. Time sure flies!

When I realized how fast I got all of my errands done I text messaged Mallory to see if she was busy at work. She wasn't so she invited me to come to the clinic to visit with her. I am so glad I got to spend some time with my bestie! We don't see each other very often so I will take what I can get. We hung out at the clinic for a few hours and then I went home to have dinner with my mom. I relaxed for the rest of the evening and enjoyed my mom and our doggies company.

Saturday I got up and went to Columbia for the Mizzou game. My friend Melissa invited me to the game with her and Richard. Richard has a suite and technically, the best view of the entire field. It was the press box before they revamped the entire stadium. It has tons of seating, free drinks, food, and a dessert cart comes by and spoils you rotten. I had an absolutely amazing time hanging out with friends and watching the game in the suite. I even got to meet TJ Moe! He was our wide receiver last year and now plays for the New England Patriots. He tore his Achilles tendon four months ago so he has been in rehab in St. Louis. Mizzou hired him to be a greeter for the suite guests during home games. Oh and I forgot the most important part... we won!

The amazing dessert cart...

Richard, TJ, and I
After the game we went to Shiloh and Room 38. We stayed up waaaay too late (3:30am) but we had a great time!

Sunday laid around until 12:30pm and then went to lunch and over to a friends to hang by the pool on the last great day of the year. (Winter will be here soon, my friends.) I was so exhausted from our festivities that I drove back to the lake and went to bed... at 7:30pm. I needed that sleep!

How was your weekend? Have a great week, friends!

Summer is in Full Swing!

This summer has been so busy. I can't believe it's already July. Summer is flying by. I rarely know what day it is. Last time we talked was over two weeks ago! Let's catch up!

I went home to see my mom weekend before last. Good thing because I haven't seen her in almost two months. It was nice to get away from the office and be out in the middle-of-no-where for a few days. I also got our lawn mower running. Since my dad passed away in January, our "lawn" (weeds with rocks mixed in) has not been mowed. I got this sexy beast running and mowed the lawn!

On Saturday I went out on the boat with some friends.
I love this boat for a few reasons...
1. It's huge.
2. The owner is a HUGE Mizzou fan!
The day started out beautiful but in the afternoon we got caught in a rain storm. Afterwards, we were blessed with this rainbow!

Last weekend was 4th of July! Tyson and I hauled our boat up to the Lake of the Ozarks on Thursday for some fun in the sun!
We watched fireworks out on the water with our good friends from St. Louis.
Being goofy!
We might have had a little fun...
Here is a video of us jumping a cruiser wake. We got some good air!!
Saturday we went to Coconuts for lunch and some pool time.
Saturday afternoon was the famous "Rehydrate" party at Lazy Gators!
Sunday we came home... back to the daily grind!

Confessional Friday {Link Up with A Blonde Ambition}

Happy Friday!

1. I confess that I dress my dog up for holidays.
he loves it

2. I confess that I have a slight pink obsession.
iPad, Graphic Image planner, POP phone, iPhone 5

3. I confess that I spray painted my purse.

4. I confess that I love Elf. Probably one of my Top 5 Favorite Movies.

5. I confess that I am slightly pissed at Yankee Candle.
yeah... a passion for highly expensive candles

They blow up my email with coupons so I went in the store the other day to get 30% off on my total purchase... I found three of their holiday scents were Buy 1 Get 1 50% Off.

I sniffed the scents, checked the prices, and decided on the small tumbler. Long story short... I saw a price of $7.99 and assumed that was the price for the candle... then I get another for 50% off that price... then I get 30% off my total purchase. I got four of them, checked out, and the total was $36.00... should have been around $18.00!

It's either a "blonde moment" on my end or "marketing" on their end, but the price for one candle was $15.99, then 50% off that is $7.99. Needless to say I put two candles back and bought two. Then when I walked out of the store I realized I just paid $9.00 per candle! WTF! I never spend more than $5.00 on a "medium sized" candle. By the time I realized it I was pissed and already halfway through the mall.

Am I the only one that hates "putting something back" when checking out? I feel like the cashier gets offended or something that I think their crap is too expensive. Whatever. I gave Tyson his Christmas Cookie candle and told him to enjoy it because it cost me an arm-and-a-leg!

Happy Holidays!

Link Up: Celebrating Southern {Gameday Attire}

Today I am linking up with Leslie at A Blonde Ambition for her week on Celebrating Southern!

Today's subject is Gameday Attire.

Most of you college football fans know, as of July 1, 2012, Mizzou is officially in the SEC! I'm pretty excited about this... there are a number of reasons why Mizzou being in the SEC is going to be awesome, but I will save that for a different post. :-)

Let's talk clothes.

Mizzou fans like to be comfortable, classy, and BLACK AND GOLD!

The definition of gold to a Mizzou fan is somewhat of a debate so you will see ladies in old gold, mustard yellow, bright yellow, metallic gold, and even beige or cream. This opens up the palette to an array of options.

Victoria's Secret Collegiate PINK line is very popular among the undergrad Mizzou fans. These ladies like to be comfortable so they can get crazy-wild for the cameras on game day.

As for Alumni and ladies over the age of 22, we like to wear sequins and heals.
Pair this with black skinny jeans and heals for a warmer game day. Throw a blazer on for a cooler day.

Considering Columbia, MO is the farthest northern point in the SEC division, we hit the colder temps a little sooner than the others. This calls for coats, boots, sweaters, and scarves.

This gold cowl neck sweater dress from VS is the perfect gold for a chilly game-day. Pair with leggings and some black leather riding boots.

Also, Mizzou fans are also pretty big UGG fans. These beauties do the trick!

A great scarf is absolutely necessary. You can find this one in the Tiger Team Store.

And I of course love my Tigerhead Dangle Earrings.

I found these adorable bangles at Charlotte Russe earlier this summer and I can't wait to wear them on game-day!

Also, you better have a beer in your hand or one of the many Mizzou Tervis Tumblers.

Well that's my take on Mizzou's game-day fashions. See you at the ZOU!

Mallory & Seth's Wedding

Mallory and Seth have been married for 2 days now! Happy 2 day anniversary!!

The weekend was awesome!!

Mallory looked gorgeous...

Their departure was hilarious. We blew bubbles on them as they walked out to their getaway car...

Seth's brother was the driver of their car so Seth let Mallory in to the backseat and her dress was so big he had to sit in the front seat! Lol!!

We had a really easy going group... no drama! Oh besides Seth forgetting the ring at the hotel.
men...
But that's okay, someone retrieved it before the ceremony.

Mallory danced her lil' toosh off at the reception...

And I was sweating like a whore in church as I gave my speech...

Seth successfully found Mallory's MIZZOU garter and threw it over his shoulder... his brother caught it.

And then Mallory launched her bouquet so far past our group no one even caught it... it landed on the floor and her cousin walked over and picked it up. Lol!!
(I'm that bozo with my arms in the air.)

Two-thirds of the '06 Chix made it to the wedding!
(We graduated high school in 2006 and there were six of us who did everything together so we gave ourselves that cheesy title.)

We did the Dollar Dance and Mallory made WAY more money than Seth. Lol!!

Oh and Mallory spoiled her whole bridal party. She got our dresses, shoes, jewelry, hair, make-up, hotel rooms, dancing flip-flops, and a bunch of other stuff that I can't even think of. She also got us the adorable canvas bags with our initials on them.

Mallory was the most gracious, beautiful bride and I am so honored I got to be a part of her special weekend. She was so organized and every detailed was addressed which made my job pretty darn easy. I'm so thankful for everything she did for us and I hope she had the best wedding a girl could wish for!

Have fun at Atlantis, Mal!! Love you!!

I'll post the photographers photos when I get my hands on them!!

It was an amazing weekend. All of the girls had fun and we all made it home safely!! I am wounded though... I have two huge blisters on the ball of my foot from my shoes so I can barely walk. Oh and I sound like a man when I talk... my voice barely made it through the weekend!!
