Friday Catch-Up

Holy smokes it's been *cough cough* 3 weeks since we talked!

bad girl, Tristan. bad..

I can assure you I have not just been lounging around in bed and relaxing. I have been running my little ass off for the last three weeks.

// We bought a new truck exactly ONE day before we left for Miami. She's a beeeeast.

// The day that we actually left town I retrieved approximately 500 hats and shirts to sell at the boat show.

// We drove to Miami for the boat show. This was home for 5 days.

// Then a few days later I helped throw a double birthday party on the boat with around 40 people on board. The cakes were awesome!

// On our way home I finally got to stop in Orlando to visit the Victoria's Secret Outlet. It was HUUUUGE!!

// We arrived home last Wednesday the 18th. On Thursday around 5:30pm our friend, Jim, called and asked us to fly back to Florida to get out his big boat, Freedom. We agreed and were on a flight at 6am Friday morning.
steamy, warm Florida... not

// We took a little drive down to Islamorada to hang out with our boating buddies that went on the poker run.

// Sunday we took a little cruise around South Miami and I still can't believe I captured this shot...
Yes, my friends, that's a mom and baby dolphin. I die. Dolphins are my favorite!!

// We have been home since Monday and I'm so glad! Traveling is exhausting. Sometimes I can be such a homebody.

// And today I am going to head up to the lake to see my mom and my bestie is having her gender reveal party! I literally can not wait to find out if she is having a girl or a boy!!

Have a great weekend!

Memorial Day Weekend

My Memorial Day weekend was amazing! We left last Wednesday and flew to Miami for a long weekend of boating. Thursday Tyson and I worked on Freedom all day long. That is one of the most un-glamorous parts of boating, but it is worth it!

The next day we looked at a boat that Jim (Jim is our friend who owns Freedom) is thinking about buying. It was one of the few opportunities to wear something that I wouldn't be sweating my ass off in.

One of my favorite parts of visiting Miami with our friend is that we don't stay in a hotel. We stay on his boat at Miami Beach Marina.
Sunglasses: Old Navy
Romper: Old Navy
Necklace: Old Navy
Wedges: Ugg
Purse: Louis Vuitton

After the looking over the boat, we jumped on Freedom for lunch.
Bathing Suit: Luli Fama

Then that evening we went to Prime Fish for some amazing seafood. I think I ate my weight in oysters.

Saturday we went to Gilbert's. It's a restaurant about 50 miles south of Miami in Key Largo.

After lunch we went back to Mr. Happy to shower and go to the Miami Heat game.

I had a little fun with my cotton candy.

Me, Felicia, and Jim

The Heat game was so much fun! Plus they won!!

On Saturday we went to Nixon Sandbar. We took both boats so we anchored Mr. Happy and made ourselves comfortable!
I was so excited. I got to go on my first dinghy ride!

My friend Yvonne made a video of our sandbar fun!

Sunday night we just relaxed and had a nice dinner at Monty's.

Monday we got up early to look at the boat Jim wants to buy again. I think he's getting serious!
The boat is beautiful and is definitely and upgrade from Mr. Happy so I am not opposed to this purchase!

When we arrived back to the marina we noticed the fishing boat was slicing up their daily catch. It was a 160 pound swordfish. They gave us some fillets to have for dinner. Talk about fresh!

That was a perfect ending to our weekend in South Beach! Great dinner with great company.

Tuesday we got up bright and early to a beautiful rain storm. I love rain. It's so calming!
Bye Mr. Happy!
Lucky for us, Jim offered to fly us home in his plane. Flying private is so much less stressful than flying commercial so I obviously said yes!

We got home yesterday afternoon and now we have one week to prepare for our next trip: the Jacksonville River Rally poker run. Talk about being busy! Whew!

Miami and Key West

Hi friends! I just got back from a trip to Miami and Key West and thought I should share some fun moments!

Walking around South Beach. It was very windy so the beach was pretty quiet.

I love Miami because I get to wear all of the outfits that I can't wear at home.

There was a guy at Mango's who had two birdies that I just haaaaad to get a picture with. I love birds!

We rode down to Key West on our friends cruiser. We left at 7am so we got to see the sunrise. This shot is of Miami as we head south.

Some friends of mine work on this yacht called "Mia". Such a beautiful boat.

The weather was perfect! It was warm and sunny with a little breeze. Perfect boating weather!

We don't mess around with our boat drinks!

My favorite part of this trip is when all of the powerboaters go to this deserted island called "Boca Grande". We pack sandwiches and lots of booze beverages and party on the island for three or four hours. It's a blast!

This year over 200 boats came!

The trip was so much fun! I was gone for one week and when I got home I was EXHAUSTED. Have been doing laundry, sleeping, and attempting to catch up on office work since Tuesday.

Oh and one more thing. This little handsome man turned two today! He's fabulous. I mean who else rides a tricycle while eating a biscotti?

Have a great weekend!

Miami Boat Show and Randoms

Hi friends! It is absolutely disgusting in Missouri right now... apparently we had a thunder-snow-storm. I don't know and I don't care what that means but I do know that I don't like it.
Snow = Gross
Now that it is clear that I don't like snow let's get on with this.

The day my dad passed away I ordered a necklace with his monogram. It came in the mail the day before we left for Florida and I could not be more happy with it. I ordered the 18mm Double Hole Gold Disc with the Vine Interlock font. I also had "1-21-2013" engraved on the back. I absolutely love it and I have worn it every day since I got it.
We left Friday the 8th and drove all the way to Atlanta. That drive freakin' sucks. We made it to the hotel where we met Chris (the crazy guy that did the Bermuda Challenge with Tyson). He had to rent a car and drive from Virginia Beach because he had to bring a bunch of the gear they use for these world record runs. This "gear" includes life rafts, medical kits, and fuel bladders. Yes I said fuel bladders. I walked in our room and it reeked of diesel fuel. Sweet. I'm gonna get high on diesel all night long!

I was so tired and wanted to go to sleep so bad but I did manage to get a pic of my jewelry dump.
We made it to Miami on Saturday night. My dear friend Farrah invited us to stay with her and Allan in Coconut Grove. I love staying with friends. It's so much more comfortable than staying in a hotel room. Plus I get to do my own laundry which I might enjoy more than the trip itself. (haha)

Sunday we went to the sand bar on this beauty.
She's a 90' yacht named "Mia". Allan is the captain and Farrah is the stewardess. There is also a chef and a first mate on board. I was honored when they asked me if I wanted to help work that day! Farrah and I were both "stews" for the yacht owner. He had about 20 of his friends on board and we had so much fun! All we really had to do was serve drinks and clean up after the meals. Easiest $150 I have ever made!

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday we ran errands and picked up friends from the airport. We also picked up Farrah's new car and some crazy lady almost wrecked in to us the FIRST NIGHT she had the car. Looked to me like she was texting or something STUPID. Driving in Florida is crazy!

Wednesday and Thursday we went to the boat show. Tyson and Chris accepted an award from Boating Magazine for their Bermuda Challenge record.
There were some crazy boats!!
I love the teak wood floor in this Skater. So elegant!
This 52' MTI is named "Black Diamond". It was a custom build but you can have one for yourself for around $2.5 million dollars. No big deal.
A couple of friends from Oklahoma bought Cigarette Center Consoles. We were testing the boat out to make sure it was party-worthy.
(If you give one damn about professional football, towards the bottom right in this picture, the guy in the pink button-front shirt is Albert Haynesworth. He's mostly known for his career with the Washington Redskins.)
Saturday it absolutely POURED. ALL DAY LONG.
Sunday I got to work on Mia again. It was an interesting group that chartered the boat. They were nightclub owners from Las Vegas and strippers. They were mostly hungover and exhausted from partying til 6am the night before and I overheard one of them say they spent $98,000 at the club that night. Freakin' ridiculous!

Anywho... me on Mia...
The sunset that night was gorgeous...
Monday we ventured to the boat show for a few hours and I finally got to go to the Mac Pro store on Lincoln Road. Thank you Baby Jesus because I have been DYING to try the Studio Fix Fluid foundation. I blogged about road-tripping for it back in August.
I'm NW20 if any of you care...

And I got to go to Ikea! It was absolutely NUTS in there. People are CRAY! I was searching for all the pieces for my vanity room... remember that wet dream I had a few months ago where I thought I could get Tyson to help me build a vanity?

It's slowly happening. They didn't have most of the pieces I needed but I did leave with the Alex 9 Drawer unit and a bunch of drawer organizers.

The trip was a pretty good time but we didn't get to stay for the poker run. We have way too much stuff going on at home to be gone for over two weeks. I actually didn't even go for a boat ride that was faster than 20mph. I was not about to hop in the boat with these two fools.

If you are patient enough (I'm not) to watch the whole video you will see where they stuffed the boat through a wave and lost two of our GoPro's. $800 dollars overboard. Sweet.

And about my vlogging... I filmed A LOT of good stuff. Now comes the hard part... editing.

I'll let you know when the video is finished... hopefully by the end of the month!

Wish me luck!
