4th of July Weekend

Tyson and I went to Lake of the Ozarks for the 4th of July. We did the typical stuff like watch fireworks...
We went to a pool party at Coconuts...
Don't mind that chicks butt crack showing... she must have accidentally put those bottoms in the dryer.

We went boating...
'MURICA!
And we met some new friends!
So pretty much we just did normal stuff for a summer weekend.

As for other news in Tristan's world...
I've been working and stuff.
I've been trying to figure out why my cat isn't eating his food. All he wants is turkey lunch meat and to sit in bed with Tyson.
I've been planning Tysons' moms 69th birthday party.
I've been anxiously waiting for the release of the new iPhone 6. I neeeeeed it.
I've been trying to run and go to the gym more than twice a week. Uggghhhh...

anyways...

I just read that Leslie at A Blonde Ambition is doing a different kind of Confessional Friday this week. She is asking for a post in regards to "a day in the life" where we write about what a typical day is like for us. But she wants RAW and TRUE material. I am actually very excited for this post! If you are interested in linking up, click here for her rules. I think I will record my day on Thursday and post on Friday if that makes sense.

Gotta go run errands now. Have a great Tuesday!

Quick Summer Catch-Up!

Total blog neglect going on right now. Let's fix it!

About a week after Memorial Day we went to Jacksonville for a the Jacksonville River Rally Poker Run. I love this run because 100% of money raised goes to charity and a good friend of mine hosts it. My favorite part is on Saturday afternoon we go to his house and hang out by his pool.
Talk about epic party! There were food and drinks and HELICOPTER RIDES!
One of our friends from Atlanta has this beautiful helicopter and he graciously gave us a ride around the river!
I hate it when my helicopter matches my boat. (Not...)
It was seriously so awesome!!

Right after the poker run we had to fly to Virginia Beach for work. Trade shows are SO BORING. But we did get to go to the beach!

We have been home for about two weeks so I have been working and laking. I prefer laking over working but whatevs...

Maybe it's because of these amazing sunsets.

So that's pretty much what I've been doing for the past month. Oh and eating delicious snow-cones.

Summer is in Full Swing!

This summer has been so busy. I can't believe it's already July. Summer is flying by. I rarely know what day it is. Last time we talked was over two weeks ago! Let's catch up!

I went home to see my mom weekend before last. Good thing because I haven't seen her in almost two months. It was nice to get away from the office and be out in the middle-of-no-where for a few days. I also got our lawn mower running. Since my dad passed away in January, our "lawn" (weeds with rocks mixed in) has not been mowed. I got this sexy beast running and mowed the lawn!

On Saturday I went out on the boat with some friends.
I love this boat for a few reasons...
1. It's huge.
2. The owner is a HUGE Mizzou fan!
The day started out beautiful but in the afternoon we got caught in a rain storm. Afterwards, we were blessed with this rainbow!

Last weekend was 4th of July! Tyson and I hauled our boat up to the Lake of the Ozarks on Thursday for some fun in the sun!
We watched fireworks out on the water with our good friends from St. Louis.
Being goofy!
We might have had a little fun...
Here is a video of us jumping a cruiser wake. We got some good air!!
Saturday we went to Coconuts for lunch and some pool time.
Saturday afternoon was the famous "Rehydrate" party at Lazy Gators!
Sunday we came home... back to the daily grind!

Weekend Review: Boat Racer Edition

Last weekend I officially became a boat racer! You are probably thinking "you race boats all the time" but this time it was different. Tyson and I entered a sanctioned boat race called Lake Race at the Lake of the Ozarks. This means we have to follow a bunch of rules, a strict schedule, and I can't get drunk like I usually do at the lake. I don't do well with any of those things but I obliged. I'm so glad I did because it was an awesome experience!

This is the boat we raced. It's a 42' Skater.
I had to get in to a FREEZING cold swimming pool and show that I knew had to swim and wade in water.
We had to do a physical examination each morning before the races. This included my pulse, blood pressure, and a breathalyzer.
Beautiful day on Saturday before the races!
This is our Simrad GPS showing our tracks. We did six laps on a 4.5 mile course.
Here is a picture of us racing!
The event was at Beaver's at the Dam in Lake Ozark.
So neat watching the cranes pull the boats out of the water.
Mallory and Seth came to watch me race! I was so glad they came to cheer us on! After we finished the race on Saturday we went for a boat ride to Horny Toad for dinner. We had a great time!
After dinner we had to do a little car-shuffle so Seth gave Tyson a ride to our truck. We made sure they put the top down on the BMW so they would look extra fancy. HA!

Here is a video from our race on Sunday.

We finished in first place but that is because we were the only boat in our class! It wasn't a huge turnout but we wanted to race to put on a show and help the event. My two goals were to not break the boat and not wreck... and we did neither so I was happy.

I got a lot of courage knowing my dad would have supported me racing. I know he was watching over us! He's the best guardian angel ever. Love you dad, miss you!

Hello, Ay!

I'm baaaaack... from CANADA!

Yep you heard that right. I went to Winnipeg, Canada last Friday the 19th and I got home the 26th.

Although it was a work trip, it was very enjoyable.

besides the cold weather... that sucked

It got cold then snowed then got warm and then rained and the weather just could not make up it's mind... just like Missouri. haha

On our way up we got pulled over and "shut down". Typical. We are sneaky though (law-abiding-sneaky) and got back on the road in no time.
It's the real deal... By USA!
The view from our hotel.
Why did I agree to this?
We were in Winnipeg for a demonstration that was scheduled for only one day but Tyson had to fly to Victoria for two nights while we were there. This gave me plenty of time to...
1. Shop
2. Lust over stuff I can not afford
MacBook Pro, you will be mine!
and 3. Eat good food
and shop more... I got this sweet leather jacket that I am OBSESSED with!
My first Mac Paint Pot!
I also had time to get my lazy ass on the treadmill. That was fun and all (not) but what made it even funner was watching Sean shake it like a stripper.
I even lifted a little... first time working out in about a month. Thank you nose surgery!
All that hard work paid off when I... drank some booze?
wait, what?
I like Canadians. They get straight to the point.
Our hotel had a really nice pool... so I graciously went for a swim.
Tyson and I decided that you are not in Canada if you can not see three Tim Horton's from where you are standing.
These donut/coffee shops are EVERYWHERE!

So that was my little Canadian adventure! Since I've been back I've done around 15 loads of laundry, donated a truck full of stuff to Goodwill, and listed about 30 items on Craigslist. Trying to purge! We have way too much crap and it drives me NUTS!

Happy Monday!

Today would have been my dad's 69th birthday. I sure miss him!
