Oh, How Pinteresting!!!

Today I'm linking up with Michelle for Oh, How Pinteresting!

I'm leaving for Jacksonville, FL tomorrow. I hope I can pack 4-5 nights in my carry on!

This living room is absolutely STUNNING!

Snacks that taste like margaritas? Heaven!

Good stress relieving tips.

I am really curious how these taste. I love buffalo wings but I don't love how fatty they are.

This is absolutely brilliant. I think I am going to make one for myself! Lol!

Don't take anything for granted! Love this!

I love this eyeshadow. The pink with the bronze is a perfect summer duo!

Bahaha I need one of these! Oh wait... I'm not a mom. Whatev...

Lol poor Tony Parker!

True Blue Party Punch

I made it through another holiday weekend! Hooray! This year I had to do a promo on Saturday at the Mercedes-Benz dealership so that threw off my usual Friday-Monday party. Oops. Oh well. Saturday afternoon Tyson and I headed straight to Grand Lake. We were out on the water all day Sunday then back to Joplin on Monday for a BBQ. I was in charge of the punch and I want to share my recipe with you! It was really big hit!
This is so easy to make!

Ingredients:
2 liter of Sprite

(I used light grape juice to lower the sugar content. You could also use Sprite Zero for less sugar.)

Pour equal parts of each into a punch bowl. Don't pour the Sprite until you serve the punch so that it doesn't go flat before guests drink it. Pour over ice and enjoy!

This punch is kid friendly... but we might have adultified it with some Malibu Pineapple Rum. It would also be tasty with vodka. Pour a splash of your chosen alcoholic beverage and then top with the party punch. Stir and enjoy!

Saw It, Pinned It, Did It!

I don't even know where to start with this one... so let's go straight in to it.

Yellow armpit stains.

Yup.

We all have been there...
(if you haven't, then I don't like you)
(kidding)

Wear a white t-shirt, wash it, then BAM... yellow stains.

WTF!?

This happens to ALL of my white shirts. Pizzes me off. So basically, I had this section of my closet that was white shirts that I could not wear because of these nasty stains. After it happened to one of my beloved Cigarette Racing tank tops, I had enough! One day on Pinterest, I found this:
and this...
Hmmm.... I have all that stuff and it looks pretty easy. I pinned this almost one year ago and I finally took the time to sit down and treat my shirts yesterday.

I mixed my Dawn (Ajax works, too) and hydrogen peroxide in to a spray bottle for easier application. I sprayed it on the stains, sprinkled a little baking soda, sprayed a little more to make a paste, lightly scrubbed the spot to get the mixture deep in to the fabric, and then let it sit for a few hours. I washed the shirts in hot/cold soak cycle with detergent and Oxy Clean and when they came out they were CLEAN! I mean good as new!

I could not believe it!! I seriously did not think it would work, so my dumbass didn't take any before pictures. Horrible blogger, I know.

But trust me, It works. Some of these shirts have been sitting in my close since December of 2010. I kid you not. This stuff removed a stain that was two and a half years old. I still can't believe it!

Try it, I swear it works!

Happy Thursday!

My First 5K

Remember that thing we did at the beginning of the year?

Resolutions or something?

I am totally rocking mine!

One of my 14 New Years Resolutions was to run a 5K. My first 5K ever. The only time I have ever ran "competitively" was in high school. I was only on the track team because there were no other sports for me during that season and I had friends that were on the team. The only reason I actually ended up running at track meets was because our coach was a hard ass and he kind of knew what he was doing.
This 5K business is way different.

1. No friends running with me.
2. No coach yelling at me.
3. Requires complete and total self motivation.
which I really suck at

SO

I found the Joplin Memorial Run a few months ago and thought it would be a good first timer 5K. It's local, good time of the year, a good cause, and a lot of people run in it so I definitely won't come in dead last.
I asked Tyson's sister to run with me and she agreed. She's been running balls-to-the-wall since she had Sam about 18 months ago. I, on the other had, have not. I run sporadically. I get these random bursts of motivation and run a for about and hour each day over the course of a week and then it fizzles out.

Oh and when I say run I mean mostly walk with an occasional jog. ha.

AND THEN I had surgery... three weeks ago.

Running + nose surgery = blood

There is no way I would even consider training until I know my body is healed.

So I called my doc and she said I'm good. whew!

I said "Good thing! Because I am heading to The Run Around to buy some legit running shoes!"

I tell you what... if you have never been fitted for running shoes, go do it. It's free and they have some really great advice. They have you stand on this cool pressure thing, then you try on a bunch of shoes, then they have you run on a treadmill to see how your feet move in the shoes, then they take all of your money sell you some really damn expensive shoes.

I got these.
And I love them! I've only ran walk/jogged in them once but so far, so good!

pasty legs, yuck.
They are Asics GT-2000 and apparently they are pretty badass. After I got home with them I read a bunch of reviews and everyone loves them. Sweet! I did good!

I also signed up for the 5K... minor details...

So I think the important part is done. I have cute shoes and I'll have one of those cool papers they pin to my shirt on race day... oh and a free t-shirt.
