Christmas was different this year. It was the first year of my life that I didn't wake up in the same house as my mom. She insisted I stay in Joplin and celebrate with Tyson's family and then come up a few days later to celebrate with her. It nearly broke my heart and I cried my eyes out Christmas Eve night. I spoke to my mom a lot on the phone that day and come nightfall, we were both so emotional about us not being together and about my dad not being there. He loved Christmas so much and always went out of his way to surprise mom and I with really thoughtful, funny gifts. It was so hard. I got these angel wings as a reminder that he is still with me, just in a different way. I miss him so much!
What kept me going was the excitement I had to give my loved one's their gifts. I get really engulfed in giving people gifts that are...
1. Surprises
2. Unique
3. Useful
I got Sam this oversize stuffed frog and he nearly shat himself when he opened it! He loved it so much!
I also stayed busy wrapping a lot of gifts. I put a lot of thought in to wrapping gifts. I love it! I probably wrapped around 100 gifts this year for myself and others.
Right after Christmas Tyson informed me that we had to go to New York City to get the boat. It was shipped over from Bermuda and he had to pick it up stat. We left on the 27th and spent the New Year in New York. I'll post about that later. So I have yet to celebrate Christmas with my mom. Bums me out but it's just how it goes sometimes. I planned on going to see her today but the weather is terrible and roads are just too unsafe to drive on. I also need to meet my bestie Mallory for our little Christmas get together! Christmas will be over when I say it's over!
I hope you all had a great holiday and are staying warm! It's a whopping -1 degrees outside today.
