My Blog Stats

Back in May I was sooo excited that I had 1,000 page views. My blog was only five months old and I had no clue what I was doing. I was using my blog as a journal to record different events in my life... and of course blog-stalking all of my favorite ladies like Pink Lou Lou and The Bargain Blonde.

Today I still use my blog as a journal... an outlet to be myself and get things off my chest. It is actually very therapeutic to write my feelings and ideas down.

Now my blog has over 7,000 page views. I went from 1,000 in five months to 6,000 in five months! Exciting! I was beginning to wonder where all these page views were coming from. Then I remembered that Google is so smart and keeps track of that stuff for me.

Duh.

A lot of my traffic comes from one of my favorite bloggers, Leslie at A Blonde Ambition. She is the sweetest southern lady, a newlywed, and has the most adorable little dachshund puppy named Ruby. Every week she has Confessional Friday and I rarely miss one! Google is second on the list and then Munchkin Land Designs which is who designed my blog header.

My two most "famous" posts are link-ups thanks to Leslie. Of course Honey Boo Boo Child and bikinis took the Top 5, too!

And last but not least, I would like to recognize that my blog is known for penis cakes.

Yes. You heard that right.

Penis cakes.

I wrote about making Mallory a penis cake for her bachelorette party.

Have I said penis cakes enough?

One more time.

Penis cakes.

These are the Search Keywords that people type in to Google and then they are lead to my blog.

"Sunshine!" is known for penis cakes, bachelorette parties, and Honey Boo Boo Child... and I couldn't be more proud!

Confessional Friday {Link Up with A Blonde Ambition}

Yay for Confessional Friday!

I confess that I am mildly obsessed with this season of Jersey Shore. Snooki is pregnant, Ron and Sam have finally "grown up", Mike is sober, Deena is madly in love with her boyfriend Chris, Vinny is celibate, Jenni and Roger are still together and Pauly is the only single one left! I thought it might be a tame season but last  night when Roger threw Jenni down at the bar, I realized it was still the same ole Jersey Shore!

I also confess that having a new episode of Jersey Shore on at the same time as the Vice Presidential debate really throws a wrench in my TV watching.

I confess that I listen to Doctor Radio on Sirius XM. All week long different doctors from the NYU Langone Medical Center talk about their different specialties like sports medicine, plastic surgery, and women's health and people call in to ask questions. It's very educational. Plus it keeps me awake listening to people ask doctors about why they have heel pain or their ED. Lol! Channel 81, baby!

I confess that I am SO PROUD of my girl Summer Williams for taking the title
Ms. Texas United States 2013! She is an outstanding woman. She is an engineer at NASA and is going back to school to be a doctor. I can't wait to cheer her on at the Ms. United States pageant next July!

Lastly, I confess that I just painted my nails and now I have to go take a shower which presents the interesting thought of showering without getting my hands wet. Tyson just called and basically moved my whole day up about 5 hours. Sweet!
Have a fab weekend, everyone!

Fall is definitely here!

 Ahhhh...
Fall is here.
This means pumpkins, soup, sweaters, scarves, and flu shots are among us.
We are allowed to sit around the house in our PJ's all day covered in blankets by the fire.
I do that anyway... minus the fire
We get to enjoy a hot bowl of soup...
And spend $4.08 on a tall Pumpkin Spice Latte from Starbucks.
Speaking of that... are you freaking kidding me? I went to Target yesterday and got a tall PSL. $4.08 is absolutely RIDICULOUS. I buy the small container of coffee for like $4.00 and can get the PSL Coffeemate creamer for around $4.00... and that makes me like a MONTHS WORTH of PSL's.

I also got this adorbs shirt from Target yesterday.
It is called a hi/low blouse which is what I have been searching high and low for.
Ironic?
Yes.
I want to wear my leggings but don't want my butt to be displayed and I definitely don't want to risk anyone seeing an accidental frontal wedgie. She wasn't on sale but I just had to have her.
I'll pair her with a black tank, black leggings, my new black Enzo Angiolini riding boots, and my grandma's vintage draped pearls.
Can't. Wait.

Fall also brings on one of my favorite holidays...
HALLOWEEN
Yeeeeah buddy!
in Pauly from Jersey Shore voice
SO. TRUE.
Girls be like "Look at my buttttttt!"
and guys be like "Look at those chicks buuuuuutts!!!!!"
anyways
I think I want to be Barbie this year. Throw on some pink eyeshadow, a wig, and a pink dress and stand around like I'm frozen. Easy peasy.
Although I will not opt to have my butt hanging out. It's pretty damn cold on October 31st and I would rather be warm than display my pale butt cheeks.

I want something like this.
And I'm sure Melania would be glad to let me borrow it because that's a dress you just can't wear twice.
So now I think I will hop on eBay and search for some girls old prom dress that I can steal for $20 bucks.
Have a great Thursday, ladies!

Where do I start! RaNdOm PoSt

Last time I posted was last month! Ugh! I suck!! Well anyways I was bitching about not getting my iPhone... well I got it that day. Who said a little bitching never paid off?

Here's a cute lil' outfit I put together for dinner that night (Sept 28 to be exact)
Top: Clearance Forever 21
Tank: Target
Jeans: American Eagle Skinny
Shoes: Charlotte Russe
And yes there is a sock in my hair. That sock helps create the most fab bun ever.

Remember my little rant about how bad Essie sucks? Well that inspired me to buy more RIMMEL polish. I painted those babies on the 30th and I'd call today the end of that manicure. That's 10 days people! TEN!

Still reminiscing on my last post... I ordered an eyeshadow palette and blush palette from BH Cosmetics... I got that shiz the day we left for Albuquerque so that night I took these pics in the hotel bathroom. Classy. I'm having mixed feelings on the products. They have pretty good pigment and "color payoff" or whatever but I think I need to tackle my foundation routine before I can blame my problems on blush and eyeshadow.

This aforementioned Albuquerque trip was Janet, Tysons' moms, idea. Tyson's sister, her husband, and their son (we'll call them NJS) decided to take a family trip to New Mexico. Tyson's mom lived there for quite a long time so NJS wanted to see all the fab things Janet did while she was living in NM. When this became public news (haha), Janet thought it would be fun if we (Me, Tyson, and her) met NJS out in Albuquerque for the Balloon Fiesta. Sounds good to me! Tyson and I were planning on attending the Balloon Fiesta last year but it got rained out. So we planned it so that after NJS did their state tour, they would finish in Alb and we would meet them out there. We left last Thursday afternoon, made it to Amarillo (bathroom floor pic), then drove the rest of the way to Alb on Friday.

Saturday was this thing called the "mass ascension" where a whole bunch of the hot air balloons take flight around 7am. This is apparently one of the most spectacular things to see in person. National Geographic named it in their Best Fall Trips for 2012. Unfortunately, this event brings in hundreds-of-thousands of spectators so traffic SUCKS... which means we have to get up at 5:45am to get anywhere to see this "awesome sight". So Friday night, I put my new iPhone 5 to work and learned how to change the names of my alarms!

Bahaha sorry for the crude language but I thought it was pretty damn funny. With that being said, they canceled the mass ascension that morning because of "high winds". High winds for a hot air balloon are anywhere between 5-15mph which means I could blow out a candle and they might cancel that shiz.

After that crappy deal, we ate a bitchin' breakfast and then went to zoo/botanical gardens where I did some yoga.
Good form? Yeah, NO!

Well after our magical walk through the botanical gardens we got our nap on at the hotel and Tyson put out some ladies car that caught on fire. Typical afternoon for me.

After our mini-crisis of me realizing I left my beloved iPhone charger in Amarillo and us tracking down a "lightning bolt" cord in Alb, we went to this thing called the "balloon glow". It's right at dusk when all of the balloons air up but don't take off. Instead they just burn their mega-huge-torches which makes their balloon glow all pretty and stuff.
Sweet sunset.
Sam dug it.
Saturday night presented the challenge of finding a place to eat dinner. We had a party of 8 and a reservation no where. After calling two-bajillion restaurants, Tyson called the roof-top restaurant at the casino and asked them when their first table would be available. They said "9:30pm." Ummmm NO. We have a munchkin here with a bedtime of 10:00pm. And that's MY bedtime. Sam's is 8:00pm so 9:30 just doesn't work for us! I said "Ask that lady how much money it would take to get us a table NOW." Let's just say I was a little bit impatient after waking up at 5:45. Said said "Come up here to the hostess stand ASAP and ask for Peggy". YES MA'AM! Tyson did just that and it only cost us $25!!! We had a delicious dinner with Albuquerque's #1 Voted Chef and then I hit the sack!

Sunday morning we were begging the wind God's to keep it down for the balloons to ascend and we got our wish! Woke up at 6am and found a big parking lot to see this awesomeness.
 It was pretty cool!

Before we left Alb we ate mexican food one last time and then stopped at Jackalope where I scored all of these awesome beads. Pearls, turquoise, and coral! I'm going to become an old-lady-jewelry-maker. I'll let you know how that goes soon. So far, I have all of my beads organized in to adorable little baggies that satisfy my OCD/Type A needs.

As if that was not enough randomness for you, I will keep going.
KIDDING.
I've got to go watch last weeks episode of Jersey Shore so I can be up-to-speed for tomorrows new episode.
PRIORITIES PEOPLE.

Confessional Friday {Link Up with A Blonde Ambition}

1. I confess that my mom had to call 911 last night to have my dad readmitted to the hospital. I brought him home from the hospital Monday night and he did so well Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. I woke up around 2am this morning and saw a missed call from my mom on my phone and I knew something was wrong. I know he is God's hands and trust in the Lord to do what is best.

2. I confess that I find it funny that I leave the lake on Wednesday and head to Joplin. Then of course Thursday my AT&T store at the lake calls and tells me they have my iPhone 5 waiting for me, but they can't hold it for me so it could end up being sold to someone else. And then my friend Justine, the manager at an AT&T store in Kansas City tells me she has a White 32GB iPhone 5 in her store, too! Can't their be one in Joplin so I don't have to drive 2 hours to get my new phone!? Seriously!? Oh well... I will be going back to the lake in the next day or two so hopefully my store will still have mine waiting for me.

3. I confess that I can turn really bitchy when the house is array. I haven't been in Joplin as much and I got a nice reminder of what Tyson's house looked like before I came along. A man can do some serious damage to a home in two weeks!

4. I confess that I made this dip and this detox drink last night. Both were surprisingly good! The pumpkin dip is very rich but it is definitely delicious and tastes just like pumpkin pie!

5. Let's keep up with the bitching, okay? I cleaned out one of the closets at my parents house this week and found 8 old cell phones. Of course the most logical thing to do would be sell them on eBay or Craigslist. That's easier said than done. To get the most bang-fo-yo-buck on eBay is to list details, details, details. Oh and pictures. People loveeeeee pictures of the crap they are buying on eBay. Ugh... talk about annoying and time consuming. I don't feel like cleaning old cell phones, digging for all their parts and accessories, taking pics, and then listing them. Pizzes me off.

6. I really want this dress
(in black)

and this dress

7. I now have a very small collection of Essie nail polish. Probably 7 or 8 colors. The only reason I bought these polishes is because EVERYONE UNDER THE SUN talks about them. All my favorite YouTube gurus, bloggers, friggin magazines, EVERYONE. So I gave in and bought a few colors. I am not impressed. Before this Essie epidemic started I used Rimmel Lasting Finish Pro. Now that shit is amazing. My manicures last 10-14 days. This Essie crap only lasts 7 days MAX.

8. I confess that I bought this for $10 bucks...

and this for $10.51...
Rush on over to bhcosmetics.com and sign up for their newsletter. They have some awesome sales and no they aren't sponsoring me or whatever.

Okay that's enough bitching confessing for today. Have a good Friday!

Semi-Back to Normal...

I'm going to try to get semi-back to normal today. You know, with my rambling and random posts?

Yep.

Here we go.

Earlier this month I completed my Eos collection. My favorite one is Honeysuckle Honeydew and Medicated Tangerine is just plain nasty.
-----------------------------
I got some sweet low-lights. This is strange for me. I usually go straight-bleach-on-the-scalp-Playboy-bunny-blonde.
-----------------------------
Tyson, Tim and I drove to Chicago on the 10th for a huge machine show. (We are in the machining biz.) It was nice to get away for a few days to a big city.
 -----------------------------
I have been staying at my parents house at the Lake to help take care of my dad, and Tyson has been in Joplin working so he came to the Lake last weekend. Saturday we moved a bunch of furniture and then went to dinner at Bandana's Bar-Be-Que where I discovered this delicious beer. Try it. NOW.
 -----------------------------
Digging my lipgloss in this pic!
-----------------------------
If you read my last two posts you would know that my dad has cancer.

No-good-nasty-ass-cancer.

He had surgery on the 14th and I brought him home from the hospital yesterday. He is recovering from the surgery pretty well. He still can't eat or drink anything so he has a feeding tube. He also has this "drain" in his stomach but, trust me, you don't want details.

Right now our goal is to get his weight back up and re-gain all of the strength he lost. His muscles atrophied while he was sick. Today he walked pretty well with his walker so he is making progress.

After he gains weight and is strong enough, we will start chemotherapy treatments.

Please keep him in your prayers!

Ugh...

Actually, double ugh.

My dad had surgery yesterday. They rerouted his intestines to a new spot in his stomach, put in a feeding tube, a drain, and a port for chemotherapy. Unfortunately, they could not remove the tumor. I'm at the hospital with him now. He looks so weak and he can barely talk. His throat is very sore and has has a nasogastric tube. He's soooo sleepy from the morphine. Today his nurse is Amanda. She's going to try to get him out of bed and give him a bath. He needs to get up and build some strength but he's just so tired.

I'm trying to stay positive throughout all of this. I get teary-eyed a lot but mostly I just want to do whatever I can to help. I hate seeing him like this and I know he doesn't like me to see him so weak, but I also know he likes to have me and mom here with him.

The surgeon said he has stage four cancer. I've been reading online about other people who have gone through this and there is not a lot of information. The cancer is very rare.

Please keep him in your prayers!!
